I read on Wikipedia that quicks mode in IE6 is triggered by * unspecified or absent dactype * xml-tag before doctype * white space or comment before doctype.
The latter is what caused my page to keep displaying in quirks mode. Oh do i dislike IE!
Otherwise, nice post and very handy still. Why still relevant? My websites are always working(-ish) in IE6, IE7, IE8, Safari for Mac, FF for win, FF for Mac and Google Chrome. Don't ask me why i still bother with IE6.
