What're some fun things to do in the Northampton/Amherst area on a Saturday night (evening only), aside from food and live music (not because I don't want live music, but because I already have that option in mind and I'm looking for things I haven't thought of) ?

Yup, Greenfield is the "local" contra for that area. I was indeed already considering that :)

I actually prefer Elements over Eastheaven, but they're both fantastic.

Elements was booked up when I called, so we ended up going to East Heaven. But now I know Elements exists :)

There's a rather nice butterfly sanctuary, but they're only open until 6. Outside of that I usually go browse Turn It Up! and wander around the bookstore in Thorne's and try not too buy more stuff than I can carry.

If it's after dark, sometimes the local astronomy club has something at the Amherst College observatory on Saturday nights.

This would've been an excellent option! Except I couldn't find enough information on whether and where they were doing it that night.
