The simplest way to put it I think is that corporate casinos extract money from people that they would otherwise have spent on other things, and send that money to faraway wealth executives. People who would've spent that money on movies, eating out, new furniture, etc., gamble it away, and local businesses suffer. While at the same time, casinos promote much higher rates of gambling addiction and crime, creating an expensive burden for local government, families, friends, and bystanders.
