dreams_of_wings took me to Whistler in the Dark's Ted Hughes' Tales from Ovid because she was in a panel of scholars following the performance that day. What I saw was an integration of spoken word, dance, and aerial silks, characters acting roles as they narrated their actions with the poems, gods portrayed by multiple actors simultaneously, like concrete poetry with space and motion in place of arrangement on a page... and a crescendo of storytelling, carefully paced.
Only one performance remains not sold out. Sunday, November 18th, 2pm, at the Emerson Paramount Black Box Theater near Downtown Crossing / Boylston / Chinatown. Get tickets here.
