Snow Squid
Dartmouth College holds a Winter Carnival weekend every year, and one of their traditions is a giant snow sculpture on the green in the middle of Hanover.
Each year's winter carnival has a theme; this year it was "20,000 Leagues Under the Snow". I took a few pictures of the giant snow squid attacking the Nautilus of snow emerging from the middle of the green.
Now I must send this to Bruce Schneier :)

Attacking... so that's what they're calling it these days. ;)
(Seriously, just about everyone I've talked to agrees that it looked like the squid and submarine were enjoying some public missionary-style lurve.)
I've gotta hand it to the sculptors, though... this was one of the better snow sculptures I've seen in the seven Winter Carnivals I've been in the area for. My freshman Carnival featured a snow monolith (for 2001, the movie and that year) halfheartedly constructed and painted green.
