On your last paragraph, first sentence makes sense; second sentence begins with something that makes sense (not saying I agree or disagree, just that I understand the meaning) and then moves on to something that I can't make sense of, and furthermore, I don't understand how the second sentence follows from the first, or from anything else in the comment. Net result: "What did he just say?"
