Over the past several months I almost completely overhauled my OkCupid profile. I partly rewrote the intro in the late fall, over the winter I wrote a new and much longer books/movies/music/food section, last month I mostly rewrote "message me if", I gradually updated "what I'm doing with my life", and today I added a new, long, answer to "I spend a lot of time thinking about". Now it's one of the longest profiles I've seen on OkCupid. So if you're curious about me, there's a lot of new reading to possibly entertain you :)

1st non-sequitur: Know any New York people who might want a part time job as a Wiffiti text jockey?

That's quite an extensive profile. OKC says we're a 90/91% match (I really don't know what friend/enemy percentages mean), which amuses me, as I didn't talk to you much when you came to visit (I live with keturn). Are you going to OSCon this year?

Huh, which one of the house denizens were you? What is OSCon like? (I don't recall if I've heard of it). And how do you know ambrosiaoferis? (who is arriving for a two day visit with me in less than 24 hours, coincidentally)

OS Con, the Open Source Convention, is something that happens here, but I have no idea what it's actually like as I haven't been (the rates are a touch too high for me without corporate sponsorship). I had misremembered your last visit as coinciding with it.

I don't know ambrosiaoferis: it's a random livejournal that I came across and friended to read, I don't remember why, though Philadelphia may have been part of it.

And, well, I'm the one...*shrug* I actually live here, unlike most of the denizens.

Not close enough at all - I can't drive there! I never would've doubted one could find real falafel in Paris, if I'd thought about it.

Though I'm not sure a midwesterner would necessarily know how to identify it :) This place you mention, does it at all resemble this one? Simple menu (falafel in a pita, falafel half pita, schwarma, and drinks), lots of toppings, you put your own toppings on and come back for more as often as you want 'til you've finished your pita. That's a real falafel place.

I miss you! Sadly I probably won't be able to visit France while you're still there. But I will be driving through Chicago in late June or early July.

That profile is a good description of you! I'm always surprised when people's self-representations in forums like that are both accurate and interesting. Writing a good profile is hard.

Text jockeys are Wiffiti moderators - a lot more about Wiffiti in that post. The New York aspect of it fell through because the new owner of the venue we were going to have a Wiffiti screen at, changed his mind and decided he didn't want it. We're still trying to get some venues in New York, and if we do, having a TJ who knows the venue(s) would be nice.
