While at CTY this summer, one of the TAs I talked with a lot mentioned she was going to Falcon Ridge. So I ask, "Oh, do you know Cos?" She gives me this LOOK and says "You know Cos?!" To which I reply, "Well, a lot of people know Cos..."

I never found out what her LJ was (or if she even had one). Her name's Becca - about my height (that is to say, short), shortish straight dark hair, often dyed blue/purple. Goes to Oberlin.

ah yes. I haven't had this specifically, but I have met a lot of people I'd only very peripherally heard of MAYBE and, when they ask for my username, they say "OH, You're dani_namaste!! It's nice to finally meet you!"

I think he picked those names carefully: not actual people, *and* not free and ready to be taken by one of his readers.

That's because you don't know that the shirt she wore to that party literally had "<lj user=mzrowan>" written on it, which is exactly what I had to type to get "mzrowan" to appear in this post.
