I just noticed that LJ tells me how many comments I've posted, and as of today, I have posted 1,000 comments in the year and a half or so that I've actively been using LJ.

Obviously I've been neglecting my own journal in favor of other people's journals, where most of my posts are. That was my intention to begin with, but I wonder: Does anyone actually read my journal, on those rare occasions when I do post here? Or do y'all just friend me so I can read your protected posts, or so that you can see my name in bold on other people's userinfo when you're trying to figure out who they are, or other meta-LJ-ish reasons?

we all read your posts b/c you *post* them... and you're our friend... and a pretty cool person... and we've got you on our friends lists b/c we're all hoping you'll eventually post some stuff that's particularly relavent to your life and what's going on in it so that we can all keep up with what you're doing...

and stuff....

I'm reading. The nice thing about the friends list is that you get to see all your friends' entries together, regardless of how often they post. Some folks on my list post every day or 4-5 times a day, some less often.

I tend to write every week or two. I don't like daily updates because I don't feel chatty every day, and I prefer to write about stuff that is important to me and not just what I did that day.

But... it's *your* journal so you should write as often as you like, the audience will deal :)

I read them, but don't remember them well. My ability to remember what people say is dependant on how well I know them. It's easier for me to attach meaning to what they say when I know how it fits in with them. I've met you a handful of times, and you seemed interesting enough to want to get to know better. Eventually, if I read enough the pieces will all stick together and I'll finally know enough about you to remember each post well.

I think, however, though, once again, I can't rememeber, that you had added me to friends list first.

I would say "of course I read them, since I read everything on my friends page", but that's not strictly true. My eyes do fall upon everything on my friends page, but some parts of it get more read / less skimmed than others. Anyway! You post infrequently enough and interestingly enough for me to read everything that's there. I think that even if you quadrupled the frequency it'd still be rare. :)
