Maui suggestions?

I've been to Maui once before, for five days. Going there again soon, again for 5 days, with someone who's never been. So I have some ideas of what to see and do, and I asked a friend who lives there for some more, but if you've ever been there, I'd love to hear what you liked?

Sadly on this trip we'll miss the Kahului Swap Meet / farmers market, which is on Saturday mornings, because we're arriving Saturday late afternoon :(

Never tried snorkeling but it was on my list of things to try this time.

Now... how do I pick among the hundreds of boat companies it seems offer these trips?? :)

Seriously, he was awesome, gave us a private tour that was totally reasonably priced, was personable, knowledgeable, and just awesome! Tell him I sent you, if you use him. And he knows where the whales are, when they come around, too. He was seriously awesome!

Well then you should plan your Maui trip to coincide with ours :)
We arrive Nov 5th and depart Nov 10th.

Hmm. "close" being an 11 hour flight. Except there aren't any direct flights from Maui, so it's about 13 hours with a connection through Honolulu. Only about 5 hours back to the west coast :) (and another 5-ish back to the east coast, so it seems Boston's closer to Maui!)
